Hi all! I am going to review my recent purchase on the Sarawak General Hospital's Labour Ward Manual. I bought this book weeks back from a reseller. There's a lot of hype about this book and many of you has been asking about reviews because you are not sure whether to purchase this book.

Size might be a factor you want to take into consideration if you are looking for a pocket book :P but to be honest, I don't remember seeing houseman in obstetrics carrying a textbook everywhere they go. They are too busy for it and the weight of the book in their lab coat hinders them from effective tasks. At most, I've only seen them leaving their books at the nurse's station and only revising them as needed/during their free time but do it at your own risk. Someone might just grab your book and leave. (Houseman in paediatrics ward often complaint that their paediatric protocol are missing!)

As much as I would love to divulge further into the book's contents,   I am unable to disclose much due to copyright. Bear in mind that this is a Labour Ward Manual and it only covers obstetrics from antenatal (briefly), SOPs, labour, delivery etc. Illustrated, printed in colour and with a handful of flowcharts, this book is easy to digest. 

Different hospitals use different protocols, this Sarawak General Hospital's Labour Ward Manual just provides a general guideline for clinicians, you might might to check which protocol your hospital is using. Some hospitals have their own protocols too!
